December 3rd update!

The months are rapidly passing by and on top of being under the weather more now than I am used to, there is so much more work to be done. Sometimes I feel like giving in and just letting life knock me around some more, but we aren't talking about just going without some things for a little while, or things turning around in a week or so.  No, we are talking about foreclosures and evictions during a pandemic on top of it being the coldest time of the year with so many warmer areas that dont really have winters, actually battling frigid night temps! We're talking about the futures of countless children in this country, who are struggling and suffering because help isnt coming fast enough, and still the government is playing the inaction and blame game because they are wealthy enough to not have to care..We are talking about disabled, veteran, and elderly lives in this country, that are guilty of nothing but existing in the wealthiest country that has failed to protect and provide for them because of any one of the dozens of reasons the states and federal government has offered, while not suffering too much as the working middle class is submerged into the homeless and in serious debt.  Which is when i realize this fight i have taken on, is not to help my family or save our home, its going to take a miracle that i dont believe actually exists to do that, no this is about having gone through and fought through all that my family has, with all of the questions asked, research, investigating, and scouring for options and resources that simply do not exist.  This is about a country founded on greed and profits, that has traded humanity and decency, compassion and honesty, for profits and perks while the very people who have literally fought for, and make this country what it is, while being forced to go homeless, hungry, and drown in debt simply because their country does not represent their best interest or well being, period..

In order for this movement to do what it needs to, to help who it needs to, to be able to make a difference and perform the various direct action tasks that it needs it, we have to obtain non profit status.  Only then can we have raise the money necessary to help veterans and their families, but to also be able take on congress and state and local governments to not only put the problems they have helped to create in their faces, but to hold them accountable until they do their jobs.  This is so much bigger than just you or I, and we need to remind those who love to post how much this country loves it vets and how veterans should come first, that that has never been the case as promises continue to be made and broken, votes continue to be bought and based on corporate needs, and the veterans and their families continue to struggle to pay bills, fed their families, keep their homes and keep their families safe from covid 19.  There is so much political activism that needs to be done, ads and marketing materials that need to be paid for and run, so that we can begin a serious awareness campaign, putting out there the factual problems, failures and need for immediate solutions now.  Legal fees to help families fight in court to keep their homes, as well as being able to help get others caught up in their rent and mortgages so that they dont find themselves in our shoes, is so important.  We have merchandise to create and get listed to sell, personal stories and experiences to collect and share, there is just too much work to be done and without being a legit non profit, we just cant.

There are so many families and futures at risk and in trouble right now, and time is just not on our side.  I have made the choice to dedicate my life to this movement and cause, regardless of what happens with out home, this is my mission and life purpose now, so that no other family who has proudly served this country, endures what we have these past 4 years...going to bed hungry, unable to keep your power or water on, having to choose between food and prescriptions.  It is true that there are programs who have done amazing work to help active duty and veterans to a point, but once these same families find themselves with underwater mortgages, there is literally not a drop or help nor hope for them and thats just wrong.  Housing, much like food and basic necessities, is a human right.  To be a healthy and productive member of society, you have to be housed, fed, safe and access to a job that pays a living wage..without those things in place, we are already put at a great disadvantage, and being setup to fail and struggle as we now see.  This has to stop and the only way it will, is we stop being silent, stop seeing things unfold as they are and have been and actually do what we can to help fight it.

We need YOUR help and support in so many ways, families need your help and support.  Veterans answered the call to serve and stand to protect this country and its people from harm, its time this country now answers the call for help to protect and defend them..No one who serves or has served this country should ever have to fight harder when they come back home, just to get a job, keep their homes, and get the car they deserve and need, no one!!
